French entrepreneurs have just unveiled a new 100% electric car called Tiny. Riding the wave of micro-cars that have recently become very popular, this new Made in France concept aims to respond to the current difficulties of access to recharging stations. Tiny is the first small electric car whose removable and portable batteries can be easily recharged from a domestic socket, wherever you are.
But that's not all, eco-designed, lightweight and affordable, Tiny wants to minimise its ecological and economic impact. Their goal is to make travel in urban areas easier and more sustainable. Equipped with 2 seats, it has a range from 30 km, supplemented by additional batteries as needed. In the category of licence-free cars, Tiny can be driven by anyone from aged 14 in France. Available in several models: Rock and Pickup, the vehicle can be seen on the startup's website: www.thetinycar.com.
The idea was born out of a double personal issue that many parents of teenagers face: "The difficulties of transporting my teenagers to school or to their extra-curricular activities and the search for ways to reduce the impact of my own daily travel. explains François-Xavier Rodet, CEO of Tiny. The current market does not meet this need, so Tiny was an obvious choice for them, reinforced by the imminent implementation of the Low Emission Zones (ZFE).
François-Xavier adds: "This vehicle will reduce its carbon footprint and will be much more relevant for journeys in the city, while offering protection against bad weather and various risks. Accessible from the age of 14, it will allow young people to free themselves from the constraints of parental or collective journeys, to park easily while minimising its carbon impact. At a reasonable price, Tiny offers a real solution to accompany the ecological transition.
The vehicle is already available for pre-order from €100 for delivery in 2024 on the website www.thetinycar.com.
In the meantime, you will soon be able to see this new vehicle from May 2023 and perhaps have the chance to try it out. With the enthusiasm for the project, the company is already considering a number of developments such as solar panels to increase the battery life.
